Previously known as the "Yorkshire Pheasant", it wasn't until 1914 that it became known as the Old English Pheasant Fowl.  Living in the Yorkshire Dales, and I guess with my love for pheasants, the Old English Pheasant Fowl is my ideal rare breed poultry choice.  

Welcome to Waplington Rare Breeds. We are a hobby breeder of utility, rare breed and bantam chickens in the Yorkshire Countryside.
Our specialism for a number of years has been the rearing of rare breed chickens, called Ixworths.  We pride ourselves on the utility quality of our Ixworths, renowned for being great layers whilst being able to produce a quality meat bird.
